Looking for a place to shoot this winter in warmer weather. 600 & 1,000 Benchrest and F Class.

Following, I too may be looking for warmer climate to shoot in - in the coming years. Interested in - Benchrest long range, F class mid range, Rimfire F-Class.

Do a search for Manatee rifle range in Florida.
I think they have everything you are looking for.

Houston/Carthage/Beaumont/Shreveport/near Baton Rouge/Laurel.... You can shoot F-class every weekend of the month year round if you wish. 1000yd 50cal BR at Shreveport for certain, NE La has 600yd BR as well as possibly 600yd BR near Lake Charles. I feel that I am blessed to live in the middle of that area...my wife....uh...she thinks it is a curse...but what does she know:rolleyes:.

What is the weather like there in January & February?

Central Texas..lol it's going to be 92 or higher here today..... Sucks... If your not used to the heat it's as bad as the cold....Can literally go from 104 to 30s in 24 hours... Summer 104 to 114 and winter's to 11 , that's the hottest and coldest I have seen them n my life but winter doesn't last long and then it's back to hot.... This September the coldest day I think was 92... Hottest in 120 years... Careful what you wish for....

Along the gulf coast it will mostly be in the 50-60's on average with warmer days mixed in but it can get pretty cold if an Alberta clipper makes it down that far. We still shoot unless it gets really cold and rainy. Houston, Laurel and Palo Alto will be on e-targets and covered heated firing line and a piano bar. Uh..that might be Pat Obrien's...in N.O...... The e-targets and covered line is true though:D.

Sounds like paradise

I always regarded the gulf coast as great, based on the brief times I worked out of there. And I have, from more years ago than I care to remember, many fine memories of Pat O'Brian's, lol.

Shot this morning Port ST Joe Fl panhandle. Very comfortable maybe 70 by 10:30 the mirage at 300 was difficult. Like a previous poster I like it here for 30-45 days then I'm headed back to the high country cold or not.
