Walker vs 40x triggers

Is a Walker trigger different than a 40x trigger? From what I understand the 40x is adjustable. The M40 ssa I purchased has a Walker trigger I think because it doesn’t have the adjustment screw in the shoe or the underside in front of the shoe. A Remington Smith stated they came with a Walker trigger but other literature states a 40x triggers were installed. The action is a 40X clip slotted action though. Just trying to figure out if the trigger has been changed out.
TIA

May have been changed out before a sale at one time or after a break. Ive never seen a 40x without the external adjustment screw
Thanks Dusty do the adjustment screw should be on the bottom in front of the shoe correct?
There are 2 screws on the front of the block.

The 40X trigger is basically a "Walker" trigger with a means to adjust the trigger pull spring w/o removing the action from the stock. See attached diagram.

Thank You Sir then I don’t have a 40x trigger just a Walker
Repeating, for emphasis.

ALL of those triggers were designed by Mike Walker, Jim Stekl, and a few others.

They are all correctly referred to as “Walker” triggers.

Only with the modern “improved” trigger of the past few years can the factory 7/700 triggers no longer be worth a shi.... ahem..

Thanks for the pic Dusty. I do have one like that. Can they be used on a heavier caliber like a 308 Winchester with out any problems? It came off a 40x rimfire.
Like nat said yes they are the same. Myself, i prefer to sell the 40x trigger to another soul and use that money to purchase a better trigger. The only reason to use one over a factory trigger is just to say you have one on there. There is no reason to ever adjust your pull weight on the fly and its the same trigger with a less reliable adjustment anyway. The only triggers worse than a factory remington is a newer factory remington or a savage. You can buy a triggertech primary or even a timney/ rifle basix for that money and have something when youre done

Yes I agree. I’ve always used Jewel. It’s been in the gun cabinet for years. What’s the going rate on the 40x triggers these days. I’d much rather have something else.

$50, or mayyybe $100 if it’s a Tombstone or a neat target trigger like one of the 2 oz.

When set up carefully, they can be excellent triggers though, fyi.

The tombstone has the flat on front and back side of the thumb knob right?
Currently it’s 1.5# with bolt release.

Correct. Viewed end-on, the safety resembles an Arlington headstone.

Now that you’ve seen it, you can’t unsee it.
