Congratulations to Cole Broussard for setting a junior record and winning 2019 F Open Louisiana Champion! Congratulations to Craig Martin for setting a record and winning 2019 F/TR Louisiana Champion and Jim Fowler for setting a record and To Warren “Machine Gun” Freeman for winning 2019 Louisiana Prone Champion. Awesome shooting guys! Congratulations to all the winners in those tough conditions.

Terrific match! Thanks for all your efforts, Vaughan. Congrats to all the winners. Really wonderful to see Cole get his first 600pt clean/1000pt clean and win the championship while setting a new Junior record for 3x20 @ 600yds. WOW!!! I had the pleasure of shooting with him at the Panola 2 man team match when he shot his first 200 clean last year. A few years back I was spectating at the La State 600yd Championships and was behind Cole's dad, Shawn Broussard, when he set the 200-22x record. This weekend I was also blessed to be pulling Jim's target when he shot the new 200-23x record! And what can I say about Craig Martin with a dominating win in F-TR! 70 x's!!!! Also a good turnout for the HP Prone competitors. Congrats to Warren 'the machine' Freeman. Hopefully, with E-targets, we will have more room and can attract more sling shooters. Looking forward to next year.

I am working on a full report but here are the highlights. The 2019 Louisiana Championship is one for the record books, literally. A new junior f-open 60 shot record by Cole Broussard (600-40), a new F-t/r 60 shot record by Craig Martin (600-47), and a new f-open 20 shot record by Jim Fowler (200-23) Cole Broussard stayed clean all weekend to win F-Open with a 1000-62x, Craig Martin took top honors in F-TR with a 998-70x, and Warren Freeman won prone with a 998-64x. A huge thanks to all of our sponsors including Vortex Optics, Sport Optics, Redding, 21st Century, Manners Composite Stocks, Defiance Machine, Krieger Barrels, Brux, LE Wilson, Whidden, Sightron, Decot Sport Glasses, Rydol Products, UniqueTek, Rick Stewart, Randall Lamotte, that donated to the prize table Robin Ardoin for putting up $100 to the shooter in each discipline for high X-count.

Great match this weekend at Palo, congrats to all the winners and new records set. It was awesome to see Cole win the Open division as a young shooter, he was excited but I think his dad was more pumped than he was.......lol.......Craig was on a mission in FTR and dominated from start to finish as well as Warren in sling. Awesome shooting guys! Thanks to the folks at Palo for putting on a well run, safe match. They also worked hard to get the prizes on the table. Great job Vaughn and crew, well done. Also thanks to Robin and Rick for donating as well!
Thanks Vaughn and all who helped run a great match. We had a fun weekend with you guys, got a feeling that if it were closer to home we might see you more. You always make us feel so welcome. Sure was good to see records broken as well.

First I would like to echo everyone else and congratulate all winners and national record setters....especially Cole, at that age I would have been so nervous and putting up 7’s by the third string. He held it together like a true Champ!!!
Also thanks to Vaughan for putting on a great match, along with all other that help with getting everything ready for it.
I got into this sport not too long ago by going out to Palo Alto’s FPR match to get qualified at 600 just to get hunting rifles dialed in. I was hooked after that first match, not just because of the sport but due to the great group of guys that love it. Wasn’t sure if it was just at Palo Alto, but after meeting and talking to competitors that traveled in for this match I can say it seems this sport is full of great guys a gals!!!
