I use the SLIK Pro 400DX with mine. Works well, but you can probably go with less. I just did a search of completed actions on ebay and saw a used 500dx go for $16.01 + $15 shipping, so you can find deals out there.

Just go to Amazon and look for a "Travel Tripod" . I have one , and it works great. They are all about the same on amazon, and around $60 to 70.
Get one with a ball head with the mounting plate on the top. Put the mounting plate on the bottom of the chrono.
I use it with my labradar, I suppose it would work well with a screen type chrono.
