I shot at West Texas Long Range one day. 7 1/2 minutes with a 284, the 308’s needed 10 minutes. If Tim took the pic, then it was most likely FTR shooting at this time.Photo Courtesy of TimVaught
He was showing how brutal the wind was in this photo. You can see the miss on the target. And the impact indicator was in the target to the pullers right... lots of drift! Wow!

We are all wishing there were shirts that say “I survived Raton 2019”.
The way some of the veterans of this place talk, this was by far some of the craziest weather they’ve ever seen.
To be in the pits and watch someone go from an X to a left 6 to a right 7 and back to a left 8, the to a ten was one of the most mental things I’ve ever experienced being in the pits. Then knowing you were getting on a bus to go shoot in the same conditions.
New conditions every shot! That would make shooting extremely difficult, if not impossible, to obtain a high score! On the other hand, conditions being that bad, a low(er) score may very well be "decent", when compared to the other shooters scores during the same relay!I was on relay 1 and I don't think I have ever shot in these types of conditions! I came off the second string and had dropped 14 points and people were saying "good shooting" !! Playing ping pong with the 7 ring was common.
There was no chasing the spotter as every shot was a new condition.
