7mm wsm brass Bertram VS Hornady

I am in the process of procuring a rifle in 7mm wsm and need to know what is the better of the two brass to buy for reloading as I looked EVERYWHERE goggle would take me and could not find 7mm wsm Nosler brass for sale anywhere and I have no desire what so ever to neck down 300 wsm Nosler brass to 7mm wsm.

All I can find right now in stock is Hornady or Bertram. I have no experience with Bertram brass but have heard mostly very good things about it. I have used Hornady brass in 300 wsm and 35 Remington with VERY good results, but are interested in EXPERIENCED based opinions on the Bertram.

I think I know why I can not find 7mm wsm Nosler brass, because I don't think Nosler makes brass in 7mm wsm, at least not at present as I was lead to believe by what I considered a reliable source.

That definitely narrows my brass choice some.

I've heard a lot about loose primer pockets with Hornady brass, but I'm also hearing that guys running it in 6.5 PRC and 28 Nos are having good luck with primer pockets staying tight.
Anyone tried 7 WSM?
I know Bertram makes 7WSM but my experience with their SAUM brass is that it's horribly inconsistent with case capacity.

I'd buy this or even Hornady before I'd ever consider Bertram again. If Bertram was the only choice I'd sell the rifle.

The straight up 7mm WSM has basically been replaced by the somewhat wildcat 7mm-270 WSM, and yes you have to neck it up and your first shot is technically fireforming but it is a very simple process. Dies and the .270 WSM brass are easy to find. Use .270 WSM bushing dies and use 7mm bushings...

I hunt with a 7 wsm, I use Winchester & federal brass. Works good for me.

I got 100 pieces of Winchester brass a couple of years back and 84 or 85 pieces weighed within 1.5 grains . The other 15 varied much wider. The performance of the brass was excellent, while my rifle is a hunting rifle the accuracy off the bench was excellent. Primer pockets held up even with some beyond the book loads.

You don’t like Bertram brass. Why specifically ?

Specifically?

Inconsistent weights.

Low grade brass stock, soft.

Sloppy manufacturing.

Overpriced.

Under delivered.

For 20 years I was stuck using Bertram for some of the cartridges requested by clients for use in other countries as well as some cartridges which had lesser availability through regular channels here in the U.S. We could order from Germany but the time frames were exaggerated and the cost equally prohibited. RWS was our main source. While Bertram usually had stock, what we received was unfortunately relegated to 3 reloads at the most. At the cost, it was less than desirable.

Now, Bertram is touting brass for the newer cartridges some of which I have purchased, trying once again to have a supplier of decent brass and once again having them fail in the quality. My last purchase was 2 weeks ago for some 338 SnipeTac brass which when it arrived, I weighed all the cases and sectioned 2 for my examination. Awful. Badly formed and unusable given the extreme weight variations. I saved 10 cases for testing while I make dies to create my own brass from best quality brass.

I’m done with Bertram now and forever.
