Remage barrel nut

I know there are several sources for the Remage barrel nut but does anyone have an average outside diameter for them. Thanks guys.

Id make it the same size as your recoil lug.

Trying to stay under 1.250. Don't want to take sand paper to my McMillan stock. I'll have it spun up shouldered before re-work the stock as I might never get another one. McMillan is only accepting orders in batches of ten for these.

Youre going to have to inlet the stock if you want a nut on there. You cant make one thin enough. Its just part of fitting a stock

FWIW, a MTU taper inlet fits my PacNut remage rem varmint taper barrel with no extra work.

^^ Thats what i meant when i said make it the size of your recoil lug. You can see why thats as big or as small as you want.

That pac nut looks nice, wondering if they still sell them as a separate item. Is that a Pac Nor barrel Fast14riot

Yes they still sell them, about $65 IIRC. Barrel is a CBI, 260AI Match.

Just to share what a different option looks like. No modification to HS Precision stock required.

^^^The bug nut is another good option. Personally, I really don't like the savage style barrel nut, it's just ugly to me.

Thanks for the pic of the bugnut jepp. He makes 2 different sizes of nut for the Rem 1.120 and 1.125 - which one did you go with. What barrel mfg did you go with and how does his bugnut set up shoot.

The 1.125. I went with a Krieger 8T and head spaced it the same as my Kelbly Krieger 8T. Can't tell the difference between the two. Both 6mm CM.

Thanks jepp. Looking at your first picture with the HS Precision stock and the Remmy receiver, is that one of the ss single shot receivers and what was the barrel channel diameter cut in the HS stock. I've got a brand new ss single shot receiver and a brand new McMillan stock with a straight 1.250 straight barrel channels sitting here, I just absolutely don't want to have to enlarge any part of the barrel channel. An 8t 6 CM is what I'm going to do. Thanks for putting up with all my dumb questions guys.

It is a single shot receiver. I just measure another HS stock (not the one I have my action in) and got 1.330" +/-
