September 14...Dead Zero.. 8am central time
Informal 1000 benchrest fun shoot
Come shoot and have a good time.
This shoot will be a meet and greet and also the time for the shooters to weigh in on the coming years match season. I said we would listen to the shooters so here is your chance to give your input in person and not on the keyboard. We will be shooting clays, electronic targets and paper for this fun shoot. Again this will be a club shoot for fun. Thanks
28 shooter limit on this first one so sign up on practiscore to secure a spot( sign up twice if shooting both classes). This will be a laid back fun shoot.

The ShotMarker (like Dead Zero Range is using) are an acoustic target, with 4 sensor's mounted to the backerboard, one in each corner. The actual paper target is hung normal in the center, that can be taken down and replaced, just like you know it (hard copy). The target picture the shooters see on the tablets/screens back on the firing-line are software images selected from a library, and are not the actual target. The target scoring, group measuring, and data gathered by the ShotMarker software, is a hypothetical to the actual target.

Problem for use in BenchRest is for a clean record target: there is logistics to be figured into the setup.
- In a live pit's scenario, no problem, and like most ranges already do; hang a clean record target up between the sighter and record target.
- With no pit's, just like is already being done, it would take a dual target scenario: one for the sight-in and one for the record target (likely only using ShotMarker as the sighter target).

Thanks makes better sense now if you use on stationary rang have to have to individual frames thanks for clarification.

That's plenty good enough for sighting in. Basically equal to live pits, and much better than clay birds or gongs. Live pits would still have the one advantage of not moving the rest a long ways between sighter and record. It's a huge difference for true heavy guns, but even light guns will spit a shot if you're not thoughtful after moving the rest 20 feet.

It’s 8 feet from sighter target X to score target X but on the same elevation. Hope this works out well, we will find out the 14th.

We will have clay birds out for sighters and will probably try a relay with electronics, depending on the number of shooters. 28 shooters will be the cutoff on this first match so it will be helpful if y’all sign up on practiscore to secure a spot( sign up twice if shooting light and heavy class). Again this is a fun club match only to try things out. Come have some relaxing fun.

Pulled a tape from center of the target to 15 feet in front of the target, put some clay birds down for sighters to test the amount of come up that will be needed from clay birds to center x and fired a couple of shots. Doesn’t look like much will be needed at all.

Ok. Sounds like fun. Glad we will be shooting paper and sighters.
I tell the locals around the DOME and try to bring a few characters with me.

4 days out, we are using clays for sighters and paper for score. Decisions will be made Saturday that will determine the path we will take next year so stay tuned. If you plan to attend sign up on practiscore or send me a message so I can help you get signed up. We really don’t know how many shooters to expect since this is a club shoot but 28 is max until we get a better handle on this. Hope to see y’all there. Thanks

I hope that the Electronic targets are used
That's the Advantage to Shooting at Dead Zero
Paper and Clays not good to me
thanks
Doc Stone
PS- I will be there Lord willing

We will be glad to use electronics at any club level shoot you guys want(they are nice aren’t they), if we become ibs it looks like it will have to be clays and paper. We will know tomorrow evening if we will become ibs or just stay at the club level. Stay tuned
