I've looked forward to shooting the UBR Nationals pretty much all year, and now it looks like Dorian is coming into Florida and I'll be working down there trying to help people get their lives back together. I know they have to happen (it's just weather) but if Dorian could have only waited 1-2 weeks!!!! I'll be checking here for results so I want to make sure you keep me posted!
If Dorian keeps his/her current path I could be there till the start of next season!
So unless something changes I'll get to shoot BGSL this weekend and a big maybe Dry Branch next weekend.

With multiple hurricanes hitting Florida every single year and the highest point in the state being only 312' above sea level… I kind of wonder if Florida really should have all those houses and businesses there.

I know for sure I am never moving into harm's way.

I just returned from FL after working there 11 months trying to take care of insurance claims from 2017 and if this is as bad as it looks now there will be a repeat in 12 months!

I live on the Mississippi gulf coast so hurricanes are always top of mind this time of year. However I’m high enough not to flood. Wind damage can still be significant. My office lost its roof in Katrina 45 minutes north of the coast.

I've traveled our beautiful country during the worst times! 2015 I worked the snow storms in Boston, in 2016 I worked the floods in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs LA, 2017 worked the floods in Houston plus working "other" claims during the year, 2018 worked the floods in Louisville, KY. I just got a welcome break after leaving FL for the last few months but I guess it's time to go back to work, at 67 years old some of the young guns are going to have to step up! LOL (they are). Oh, I've been doing this a long time including Super Storm Sandy in NY and NJ, funny thing was then I could tell the insureds "Hey I know how bad Sandy can be.....I married her"! (didn't go well at home tho ;0()

Seems like every part of our beautiful country has threats of some kind, earthquakes, floods, winter blizzards, tornado's and yes hurricanes, being in North Florida I think we have been very lucky but you have to put up with this weather threat every once in a while.

Our hearts will go out to Floridians and Georgian's this month, and next it will be for the unfortunate tornado victims or flood victims in one of our neighbor states.

Lets just keep all our fellow countryman in our prayers, today its Florida next week it could be North Carolina.

Just noticed the new Dorian update takes it farther east and almost a cat 5 at 150 mph, Florida might be spared but our neighbors in Georgia, South Carolina may be in it's sights next, our prayers for them.

I got a chuckle out of this.

Agree wholeheartedly, doesn't matter where you are you will/are effected by our weather. Floods, hurricanes, tornados, snow storms and I could go on and on! I've laughed with a few and cried with a lot. Doing some jobs are pretty quick and others take a long time.

Thank you! The way I shot today it may be a blessing that I'm going back to work! I won unlimited class again, this makes twice, 1st in 100 and 1st in 200 so won agg, ..........only problem was I was the only one competing in unlimited. Good thing no one else showed to compete in my class or I would have been second! ;0):D

That`s funny. I worked with a guy years ago and his famous quote was " I`m so ugly if I was the only person in a beauty contest, they would announce John ,last place". The way Dorian is shimmy and shaken, hard to tell where it will hit. But like I said BE SAFE wherever. Jeff Oh,congrats on the wins.
