Ive been killin em for the last 26 years... cant count how many ive killed with a 22lr. Cant imagine how many ive killed in 26 years either... just want a short range bang flop big bore fun gun.
44 mag is the best hog gun ever... just looking for a new toy to cut down trees with.

2200 to 2400 depending on barrel length.
.300 BLK Gets My Vote. .30 cal bullets are probably among, if not The most variety available.
I like the standard mags, standard bolt part, too. If I have to cannibalize and convert to something found in the field, commonality with the .223 is an advantage.
Only caveat is that because of a case capacity very near .38 SPL, ya can't expect decent .300 BLK performance out at 300 Yards. No Elk, Moose, or Bear unless He lets you stick it in his ear!

Im no hunter, but i see guys droppping hogs in their trax with 223 all the time.

223 is a bit different. Ive seen 300blk mag dumps into hogs without a hog laying there

All I can do is report what I've heard. Lotta guys geting 300BLK specifically for hog hunts. With tons of success.

It is a good round. 150 grainers mimicking .30-30 performance in an AR15 and you can shoot pointed rounds. .30-30 has been taking game for years. The .300BO will have no issues.

Not my hogs, but taken with a 300 BLk and 125 sst.
Top one took 3 hits, bottom one was 1 shot. The bottom one weighed in at 250+, scale would not read the larger one
