CMP/F Class?

They may in Anniston, but at the traveling CMP show it's all service rifle.

I was thinking more in terms (should have mentioned that) of the CMP "shoots" at Camp Perry since the NRA decided to pull the National Matches to IN, and maybe ultimately cause an implosion on their Highpower Competition division.

No F-class at Camp Perry. F-class shot there in '12 thru '14. In '12 they started the Great Lakes Regional along side the long range championships in order to shoot the America's matches with Canada there. In '13 and '14 when the Mid Range championships were a combined championship there was F class there, and they continues to hold the Great Lakes Regional along side of the NRA long range matches. The MR was split off in '15 and the Great Lakes Regional was canceled.

Things change, but as of today I haven't heard any rumors of F class going back, that and F class is really an NRA-HP thing, it doesn't fit into the CMP universe of service shooting very well.

Thanks for the reply. Never been much a fan of the CMP (the guys that sell surplus rifles) aside from buying their rifles. I don't know about their "shoots", but since you mention that they do not allow F Class to infiltrate into Highpower Competition (at Camp Perry), and that they have added Long Range, I think I will attend the Camp Perry "shoots" this year.

Outside of CMP Long Range week @ Perry there is no match venue suited to F class. Everything else is positional shooting except for Prone smallbore.

I am sure you could ask them about inclusion into the long range program since all of the matches (except the Viale / Palma match) is fired from 1000.

I don't want F Class included in Highpower.

So you would want a F Class only event or series of events?

And these “shoots” are called the National Matches...

And these “guys who sell surplus rifles” are doing so to fund the endowment in order to fulfill their charter of promoting Marksmanship and safety amongst the civilian population.

Yes,
I would want F Class only events: somewhere else.

There is an F class National Championship ever yr. that is F only. It is being held at Raton next month.

Then there are the major matches that allow both:

There is also the SWN in Phoenix in Feb, though it's about 1/3 sling shooters. They don't bite.

Then there is the Sinclair East Coast Full Bore Championship at Butner in May, the Spirit of America at Raton in September.

That should keep your powder throw busy right there.
