Removing Ejector Spring Ultimatum U300 Bolt

Hello all

Ive got myself a U300 gen 2 bolt that I wish to remove the ejector spring and shorten it as the spring pressure is so great that even on mild loads in getting ejector marks on the base of cases. Have supplied photos of the bolt. Looks to just be held in with a roll pin of some description? Any tips and advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks U300 Bolt.jpg U300 Bolt 2.jpg

All you gotta do is drive the roll pin you have pictured there out. Do it in a plastic bag if you dont have a way to capture the ejector because you will lose it.
But before you do this just know your spring isnt whats doing this. Your heavy load is whats doing it. A lighter spring will only make it eject lighter. Back off your load.

Thanks for the quick reply. I probably should of worded my original post better. Im not getting the traditional "Smiley" mark from a high pressure load, its more of a little scrape from the ejector plunger only. My primers are still round and zero cratering of the primer (Fed 210M). Also my necks are still black with soot even with the highest loads ive tested thus far.
I get the plunger marks from my base load aswell, which Quickload tells me is only 48,963psi. It does eject cases a mile even with a slower bolt manipulation too so Im thinking that the ejector spring is pretty heavy duty.

Main thing I want to know for sure is that the spring is not causing the marks as then I will definitely be looking into changing my loads.

Sorry for the long winded response, Is it difficult to put everything back in once its been removed?

Thanks again for your time and information.

If you stick a case under the extractor you can hold the ejector in place to install the roll pin. Beware of it shooting out into space

Alright I got it done. Getting that tiny roll pin in and out is a pain! But I took 2 coils off the spring and now the case either stays in the action or if cycled quicker it drops out the side.
Very happy with how it turned out.Ejector Spring.jpg Ejector Spring 2.jpg
