The goods news is that they more than made up for this by making it too large to fit in the carrying case .

Yes they did, but do you suppose that they put those 2 big velcro loops on the back of the case to hold their base???

Possible, but not a very useful design IMO.

Odd man here, I guess, but I have no problem with the factory base and like how it attaches to the case for storage. I really can't find anything about the Labradar to complain about.

For anyone using the Gear Buggy scope stand I was able to make an adapter to attach the labradar to it works well

I was using the LabRadar base but have switched to a tripod.

I like the tripod with ball mount. Easy to adjust and dual use.

For the sight notch, i just rolled up some paper and taped it in the notch, works great!

Since my barrel generally extends past the end of the bench, I also use a tripod. Search Travel Tripods on Amazon, they are about $70.

I simply screw the " quick release plate" to the bottom of the LabRadar, and leave it there. It drops into the top of the Ball Head, and I secured with the knob.Very quick to set up and align.
