Just did a match there yesterday with my son (who shot), also attended my wife and niece who is stationed there. I must say this is a great match! Match director knew I was coming from out of town and even called me the night before to confirm all the details. Had a great time and plan to come back again!

That match is on a 'to do list' for me, particularly since I have a son living in Pensacola. Hurlburt Field is minutes away from arguably some of the world's most beautiful beaches. 'SD Dasher' aka Wes Cummings shoots that match and hopefully will chime in on any info needed.

I know right where it is. I used to barge jet fuel there. All I have to do is find a campground and mention beaches and my wife is ready to roll.

In my wife's case, the only acceptable campground would be the Holiday Inn on Navarre beach.

sounds like we've done a lot of the same stuff,but 90% of mine was offshore.

I spent the night on base at Eglin years ago. My son in law at the time was deployed and I visited my daughter. I had no idea at the time of matches at Hurlburt. Would have brought my rifle, which would of course have been locked up by MP’s until I left, lol! I’d like to try that trip too!

Bill Walter is in charge of monthly 3x600 mid range matches using Silver Mountain E Targets on the third Saturday and Sunday of the month except July and December. If not military you have to get a pass at the visitors center. Bill will put you on a “match visitors list” with prior information that you plan to attend. I keep trying to get back over with my friends in Palo Alto. I promise to make some matches this fall.
