It is a Remington 700 short action single shot action. I decided to go with threads after all...

You should see what happens when aerosol cans are available!

I used the dykem because I like to see how may tenths I need to take off to true it. Answer was .0006". took .0004" off the lugs.

Notice how even the root of the threads were when I machined them out. This remington action was near perfect.

New threads are 1.125" x 16 tpi. same as my BAT HR. Im going to build a 300 norma magnum. Some folks say don't build a 338 LM based cartridge on a 1.062" tenon. So I put 1.125" thread in it.
