Laser Grips for 1911 ??

I have used CT laser grips on two 1911s, two 1911 compact carry pistols & two S&W snubbies (one of which is on my hip as I type this). All six of them have performed as expected or better except the 1911 compact with the green laser. In the years I have used CT lasergrips, I have never had one fail, in spite of some poor treatment by me.
Yes, the red laser is useless in full daylight but so is the green. When the light drops a bit, such as an hour before full sunset, the green works well, the red barely. Now lets be realistic, in full daylight we probably do not need a laser of any sort. When its dark out, the red works just fine. Drawbacks to the green are its cost is appreciably higher, it demands 4 batteries not two, its battery life is poor compared to the red, less than 1/2.
CT is a good company with good customer service (free batteries for life!)
wow thats alot of good info that helps velo. I think ill stick with the red. Like you say i had night use in mind for these. i think ill get 3 dot irons for daylite times.
Thanks for all the good info.

I personally like the green better than red. I would like to try blue but I do not know anyone who makes one.

If you are going to pull your handgun use it as soon as you can.

I would suggest you find {if possible} someone that has them on a handgun and try it BEFORE you buy one. They are pricey and not exactly something you can easily "get your money back" on. I say this because, like a lot of things, they are just not for everyone. But, some people really like and do very well with them. Personally, I don't care to use a laser sight. I am old school, "focus on the front sight", and I find them confusing and a distraction. But, again, that's me. My sister, who is not particularly a gun person, loves a laser sight and can eat the target up with it. She was busting clay targets on the bank at like 50 yards!!
That is why I say you really need to try them out and give it a good chance too. I had one that came on a Beretta 92F I bought used...loved the gun and really tried to use the Crimson Trace, but it just was not for me. Crimson Trace by the way is absolutely first rate 110% very good gear. Best of luck!!!

Yeah I’d like to try several different colors ect. I have used laser levels and during the day the red can be hard to see so I have an idea how it would be. Thanks

I am thinking of buying a set of laser grips for a 1911 carry gun. I was just going to buy some Crimson Trace but thought it would be nice if I could get opinions from people who have had some, so if anybody has any info on 1911 laser grips I’d appreciate it. Thanks Much. Hoz.
I have a set on my Kimber. They are great way to augment the sights. The battery in mine has held charge for over 15 years. Your mileage may vary though. One of the great things about CT grip sights is the ability to shoot from behind cover where you don't have the sights lined up. Not something to focus on however a nice alternate scenario. Probably the only thing I have noticed with the CT grip lasers is some shooters have trouble staying out of the way of the laser. In every case it was an opportunity to teach a better hold and not interfere with the laser.

The only CT product I have that I can't recommend is the universal laser that mounts on a rail in front of the trigger guard on some semi autos. It is much dimmer that CT's grip lasers and about useless.

Thanks for that info whiskey. It definitely helped.

I have CT laser grips on my HD 1911. Use the regular iron sights for everything but have the laser for low light home defense. When using the laser I look over the barrel with pistol about chest high. This provides unobstructed viewing of the area while still holding laser on target as needed. Situational awareness is greatly improved to determine if their is more than one bad guy around. Eyes aren’t locked on target holding good sight alignment with vision blocked
