Opinions on the Bruno o frame press please. Posted here so more would see.

Saw one being used by a LONG time PPC shooter yesterday and it looked to be of very high quality. This gentleman would not have been using it if it were any other way. Pretty much identical to the little blue R.F.D. sitting here. I couldn't be more pleased with that one. Mine IS limited to smaller length cases.....

Regards
Rick

Yes theyre pretty much made for a ppc with a 68. If youre using a longer case dont bother. They are works of art. Bruno started making them when rfd quit making it. The JJ press is the next step up but the bruno press is very nice and feels like a fine sports car

Glad i ask, i want it for fl sizing 6bra and 284 shehane. Is the jj bigger? My coax is giving .001-.0015 variance when fl sizing annealed cases.

I have the JJ Loh “O” press. I size my 6BR Improved cases as well as 6.5x47L cases but that is about the limit for the press. You couldn’t seat bullets in the 6.5x47L with the press though, it’s too short for that but you want to talk about well made...it surely is that.

And no, John does not make a bigger one but he told me he hopes to some day.

Dave.

My coax issue is same as above. Even tho I have limited it, my headspace Varys round to round by about .001/.0005. Do you know it the jj loh will accept a 6.5 cm which is a tad longer (I think) than the 6.5L?

Are you talking about a 6.5 Creedmore? If so I can borrow a case and die from a friend and PM you. I’m on vacation now so it may be a week or so. It will be very close if it’s longer than the Lapua case.

Another reason you guys may be seeing variations in headspace could be that some cases may be work hardened more than others so they spring back more. In that case you may need to look into annealing or sorting by bump length.

Yes, creedmoor. That would be great if you are willing to try. That’s the biggest case I use.

Thanks Dave, I do all my seating with inline dies and an arbor press. Just considering an o press for sizing only. My 284 Shehane cases are about a 1/4" longer than a 6-47L case that I have on hand, well 5/16" to be exact, do you think it would work to f l size the 284 Shehane case? Thanks, Barry.

So here is the JJ press with a 6.5x47L case in the shell-holder. The FL die is set properly and I measured .220” clearance from the mouth of the case up to the bottom of the de-capping pin. If you were to take my 6.5x47L case and add .200” (leaving .020” to move the bigger case in and out without hitting the pin) I get 2.040” as the absolute maximum case length depending on how much you have your de-capper protruding through the die. That is pushing it though so I would say maximum case length would be 1.975”-2.000”.

This would be for re-sizing only, not bullet seating.

I was not able to get my hands on a 6.5 CM case.

Dave.

One could easily mill away a bit of material from the base of the die area, inside top of the arbor to give some clearance.
BTW that is beautiful, I would call it press porn.

Thanks for a very informative post.
(BTW, I use the same reloading benches.)

Anyone ever make the same size comparison on the similar offering from Lenzi?
