Thinning the Herd

Memorial Day weekend and I plan to thin the herd (Sounder) a bit. Using a suppressed .284 Winchester and Slo Glow lights. Shoot one and wait 20 minutes, they will be back. Using Sour mash corn and regular corn for bait. If there is corn under the dead one they will flip 'em over to get to the corn. Big Hampshire or that big sow goes first.

Saturday update. New rotation at the feeder. Two big boars have taken over the feeder. Managed to get one early this morning (1:30) Big one, probably pushing 200 lbs. I will set up again tonight for whatever shows. I included a picture of my "Hog Blind"

I made a brisket chili with the chili on the smoker for three hours. Outstanding!
A couple of those stands look a lot like my deer blind. Except I have electric heat and WiFi!

There is a local family that owns a big oil company that fuels ships and big yachts, and other industrial customers. The family owns a big tract of land near the Everglades National Forest that they hunt on. One of my friends gets and invite to hunt down there on opening day and once or twice afterwards. He tells me that the hogs are so thick that shooting them is just so easy that it isn't sport. One older gent has a stand and an anvil hanging from a tree on a pulley and kills a few ever year with his anvil. Its all told to me buy a guy that I believe but dang that is just one I need to see.

Sunday Update: That Hampshire from the original pic showed up last night. Happen to be a female traveling alone getting ready to domino. Don't know how many she had in the oven and don't care, this was a disaster nipped in the bud.
Pirate, finished that BBQ in time to cool the pit and convert back to a blind.
I'm skipping tonight, they are probably getting a bit skittish.
BBQ on. Is that pork shoulder gonna be pulled pork?
