220 Swift AA-2700 40gr Sierra BK

Western powders loading book ,shooting the 40gr Sierra BK in front of AA-2700 powder range from 42.3-47.0 . gonna test out loads tomorrow in NV desert Spring weather. These loads our for prairie dogs on June 1st. If my rifle likes 45+grs willl I be blowing primers in MT ? That happened with Re#16 in my 6mm Creedmoor.

45grs of AA-2700 out of 28"bbl produced average velocity of 4355 FPS .

Pretty soon, your barrel's inside diameter will be 6mm! My Swift does fine w/50-53 gr bullets at 3700! Doesn't seem to matter to the ground hogs either.

I will bring a few rifles to keep the heat down on individual bbls. I specifically will shoot swift extra slowly. But when I do burn it up,I'll order fast twist a octagon bbl the Lilja makes for W-W 1885s
