Just a reminder,It all started on this day in 1775. The Brits showed up in Lexington to confiscate the patriots weapons and arrest the leaders.Eight brave patriots died that day. I just wonder?
And this is why we have the Second Amendment. I pray that we have the fortitude to be as brave as those eight.
If you’ve never been to the site of what actually turned out to be the running battles of Lexington and Concord, it’s worth the time IF having a full picture and context of the economic and political factors of that era mean anything. There is nothing like the local venues for presenting this story. I taught U.S. History and American Government courses (off and on for 15 years). I’ve seen most formal “mainstream” electronic media presentations, and read volumes of individual history collections of the events. Nothing made the impact on me that visiting the area and walking the same trail followed by the redcoats between the two villages. If I could recall time I would take every former student to see it firsthand. So much more powerful than anything I could say.Just a reminder,It all started on this day in 1775.
