When stationed in Alaska I had a small multi fuel stove. Used that bug juice as fuel once in a pinch. How many of you guys remember that Army insect repellent in the little olive drab plastic bottle that would strip the finish right off your gun?? It had to be cost effective, it could double as bore cleaner and paint stripper too!!! I hated having to put that stuff on my skin. It was very effective insect repellent though. I actually still have one bottle of that stuff and it stays in my survival kit. Probably work as bear repellent.
Who else remembers using Avon "Skin So Soft" lotion??? Used to use that stuff all the time coon hunting in the warm months...got stopped by a game warden one night to check our licenses. We got some funny looks. Imagine pulling over two truck loads of rough looking hillbillies with miner lights and boots that all smelled "real sweet"!!!!!

Last summer i was cutting with a bush hog with weeds about 4-5 ft high. Happened to see more than just a couple bugs ahead of me on the side i just cut. There was a bald faced hornet nest in the weeds about one foot from where i just passed. Only time i've ever seen them. My good neighbor torched em. Meanest looking hornet i ever saw.Bald-faced hornets are more mean and miserable than me...
