When I turned 21 WAAAAY back when, first purchase was a Model 19 6". It's taken deer, pigs, one turkey and a mess of rattlers. Last handgun purchase was a Model 57 that someone had abused and put away. I got it cerakoted and new grips to replace the cracked one's that were on it. Sweet shooting handguns.

S&W 686 all the way! i have a 4" and 6" and love em both but the 6"bbl just by looking at them is so easy to tell that it gets way more use

Im looking at getting a 357 mag revolver. Single/double action, stainless...

Smith and wesson performance center?

Dan wesson?

Any other higher end/quality brands I should look at in this type range? Im not a fan of the ruger frames.

I would rather have an older Smith .357 than a current one from the Performance center. I am not a fan of Dan Wesson's after having owned a few and have yet to shoot my unfired (except for proof round) Python from 1977. For heavy loads my favorite .357 is the model 27 with a 6.5" barrel and for light loads the Model 19 or 66. Ruger's have never done it for me either. The newer S&W L Frames are nice too.

I have a S&W model 19 357 mag and with it’s deep high polish blueing plus the way it fits my large hands and has such a awesome trigger.... well it’s just hard not to like and/or enjoy shooting it....

But my go to 357 mag is my SS full lug GP-100 that I bought many years ago. It also fits my hand well and has also had the trigger worked on... however I installed the optional round front and v-rear sights that I really like. It has taken many deer out to 70ish yards (the limit of my skills) and just happened to take the largest buck I ever shot at about 10 yards. So maybe it’s all the fond memories that make the GP-100 extra speacial. I would have a very hard time parting with either.

Had a few of the .357/.41&.44’s settled on an early 57-4” nickel and a later stainless 657. First .41 was a Ruger Blackhawk for backup on big pigs...always ! Smith’s handle the 265grs gas checks & enforcer really well.
