empty chamber flags

I need about 50 of these for our local gun club, does any one on this forum know where I can buy for a reasonable price. so far I have found prices from $1.75 up to six dollars apiece.
these things can't cost more than a $.05 to make.
as the new range officer, I am going to institute a new rule. when the firearm comes out of the vehicle ,it will have a "ECI" in place and remain there till pointed downrange on a hot range
really don't want to go the tiewrap ribbon route if I can avoid it

So if my rifle is in my case I would have to have one in my chamber in order to open my case and move it to my bench? Or if not in a case I have to insert one to carry my rifle to the bench? Have you had accidents there or do you just think other people aren't capable of thinking for themselves? I have never been to a range that is this strict!

The last part of your next to last sentence say it all. Some firearm owners are NOT capable of thinking for themselves. If there's a stupid trick imaginable, they'll find a way to do it.

When I leave the house for the range the chamber flag is already in place in my rifle. The CF & RF ranges where I shoot request/require that all bolts are on the bench when you set up. After you stop shooting the safety flags are in the action.

You have to set your standard rules to meet the level of the dumbest person that may show up. I saw a guy that shot himself in the penis.. So yeah folks can not think for themselves. Just google epic fails and watch the videos.

At the range where I shoot, all shooters are expected to think for themselves. There is no official range master at the rifle range, one of the shooters assumes the duties. There is a cable that allows any shooter to sound the horn to call the range cold. They have never had an accident and I have never felt unsafe going downrange. Another range in the area does have a range master but I don't think it is any safer. No one used chamber flags at either range. Chambers are simply left open. The only place I have used chamber flags is at F-Class matches.

Local range here has gone to putting a roll/package of orange weedeater line on a canopy support pole, or a member did. Works well for a ECI.
