A better way to hold a stock for painting

Lol! Thanks! I'm just not an orange fan but it was pretty...if you like orange. I did two for two different people at the same time...big buddies. One stock was for a different action of some sort. I think it was this one. Anyway..had to grind it out and fill it back up, etc, before I could paint it. I do like all that pearl in this one.
 
Dusty's looks like a true fire technique done with greys to create that smoky appearance.

I bet it is. Mine was molded in from McMillan. Not bad but not nearly as nice as his.
It was like maple...you either loved it or hated it. I liked it, myself.
 
I wish I was walking in the woods today.

I figured out the design flaw of my stand after using it these last couple days.
Gotta remember to mask the upper portion of thread stock. I remembered today, yesterday I used a thread chaser to get stock off stand.
 
Here's how I hold my stocks to be painted. They can be held at any position and it stays there on its own.
