2019 US Under 25 National Championships

Hello Everyone

Please see the attached match program and entry form.

This is our inaugural event and we are very excited about it. This match includes all rifle types and will have MR, LR, and Team shooting.

Match is in mid June so hopefully no one will have to miss school and with it in Raton the heat should be bearable.

We talked at Phoenex about the dates for your Junior Championship. Now I see you have a program which is exactly the same week as our Midwest Palma match. It is going to be very hard for me to support your endeavors when you do things like that.

After we spoke in Phoenix I did exactly what I said I would do.

I contacted the NRA Whittington Center and ask if I could host this match on a different week. Ken looked at the calendar again and called me back to confirm that this was the only week available.

This is great! Exactly what our sport and the Under-25 shooters of all HP rifle disciplines need.

I sincerely hope that this will be a successful event with both Sling and F-Class (both F-Open and F-T/R) shooters participating.

These young shooters are our future. We need to do everything we can to make this a great event for all America's young rifle shooters.

I am looking forward to seeing F-Class and Sling shooters of our next generation side by side, competing with each other within their respective disciplines, preparing themselves for the future and showing us old guys what we missed when we were their age.

I wish you - and them - much success!

We wanted to run a multi day event and my thought was this way you would have the weekends to travel. We will see how it works and possibly adjust accordingly next year.

Rick I sure hate to fight you on this but I would like to thnik that we could make better plans for next time. Rember we have some excellent shooters in the eastern part of the country it is just as far for them to travel as it is for you lets not get stuck in one location because it is conveant for some it is just as incoveneant for others. Thank you

I’m not fighting anybody on anything. Our idea was to get this thing launched and see where it goes. I picked Raton because Michelle and I are running it and Raton is halfway in between. I believe its pretty common for people to run matches at ranges that are in reasonable proximity to their homes. Eventually if other clubs around the country want to host this match then I’m sure they can have it wherever they want and whenever they want.

My complaint was not with the program or its intent I agree whole hardly my complaint was with the week that it is being run . It is on the same week as the Midwest palma f class champion ship witch has been that week for 20 years. I will support your endevors and hope to bring it to the north west EARL

Good luck with this first-time effort! Whittington’s an awesome range, would that I could shoot there more often than the two trips for SOA I’ve enjoyed, 12 years apart.

For me Winnequah’s a lot closer, just as much fun! Maybe in the years ahead with more time to plan for your activities you can avoid conflicts with WGC’S annual MWP event. Not enough time for outdoor activities in our neck of the woods, season’s too short!!

Match Drector's bulletin will take care of the omission. TR will shoot MR-1 an LR target.

I think this is awesome a event like this is offered. I just booked everything for Nationals for my son and I and just can’t get him to both finance wise. All the work and volunteer hours to pull this off is much appreciated. Though I can’t get my son there this year we will follow the event on the forum.
