Guaranteed to take the wind out of their sails
got it yesterday, looked at it for awhile, had to build up courage to open it.It has kind of a minty smell
to it, which is better than smelling like skunk spray. The color reminds me of Welches grape juice, or that real cheap black cherry vodka we used to get for a cheap drunk. With that being said, this
stuff is not finger licking good, if you try, have a shot of good tequila close by to wash your mouth
out, it works, believe me.
I poured some into a bottle cap and left it out all night, to see if it would evaporate or turn into
a gel, after 21 hours it still looks the same, very fluid. I pulled 15 junk Winchester 22-250 cases
out of the junk bucket,to work with. A friend had brought them in to pull the bullets, because he
tried to crimp to much while seating, be aware this was New Winchester brass. each case had a
slight bulge at the case body-shoulder juncture and would not chamber. You might be able to see it in
photo #1.
applied oil with a Q-tip that was dipped once for maybe one second, done all 15 and could have done more, so it does go a long way, that's how I know it taste like crap, don't lick your fingers
you won't like it. I left them sitting out for 10 or 15 minutes before sizing, but with the bulge in
them I crossed and hoped for the best. Rcbs die that I got cheap. They slid in easy, and the only
tight point was bringing them out when the expander ball came out of the neck, after 3 cases
pulled the decapper expander rod out, big difference, no binding at all.So, all in all, for case lube
it worked great, for me.
As for the part of getting the oil off the case, I used my normal method, 2/ 8 minute cycles
in my sonic cleaner, rinse with warm water, 10 minutes under a 500 watt quartz floodlight
to dry. What was left was clean OIL free cheap Winchester brass. In photo #2 you can see the
results, and none of these ever came close to getting stuck in the die.
Never done a product review before, if it to long let me know. Anyway, would I recommend this
for sizing, yes I would. But you have to remember I'm not as good as alot on here, so you would have to try for yourself.
sometime this week I'll do part #2, break out the FnFal 308 Creedmoor and see if it will
increase the rate of fire.
