Savage Bolt Head

I have one of the older/early model single shot Savage 112J rifle that I want to change the bolt head to fit the 20VT (6mmBR now). Does anyone know if the newer model 10/110 223 heads will fit and if not which one does.

Thanks

You will need the Long action 223 bolt head . If you have the the style having a depression in the body to help the bolt head from stressing and breaking the large style firing pin you would have to modify the bolt head or less preferred the bot body

Does the bolt head have a raised ring and clip similar to a Remington with a counterbore in the barrels breach or a flat bolt head?

Thanks all, I thought I had read somewhere it was different and the normal heads required milling to fit. I know the action does not tale a standard one piece scope base either long or short. It takes specific 112J scope base that is no longer made.
