The most effective brakes will have expansion chambers inside...hint....these are rare on the market these days due to machining costs.
Firing up this dead thread to ask a question. These Harrel brakes sem well thought of, but looks to me that they cost less because the are not finished and require gunsmith instillation. I don't do 80% uppers either. Why doesn't he bore them out to caliber and then turn me loose with a crush washer? I would get one from Nathan, but he strangely does not offer 5/8x32tpi. Harrel does, I just don't want a inexpensive brake I have to go get $50 plus bucks worth of work on to use.
Cause the bored hole should be lined up with bore. MattFiring up this dead thread to ask a question. For normal muzzle brakes I have had good experiences with patriot valley arms. But in general if you can suppress then that will cut the recoil a bit more, in which case you basically are with whatever works for your suppressor.
Pretty pricy brakes. I've never seen reviews on them. Hard to believe paying 225.00 vs 40-85.00 will give a rifle a better system than Nathan's or Ross' brakes. Have to check out some reviews.you folks should try the heathen brake, nice nice nice
better than the apa little bugger brake,
there are reviews out there for your viewing pleasure

Very familiar with the a.p.a. little BASTARD.
I need a muzzle break that will tame a BIG .30 CAL BUT don't want to break the bank. Apa is my first choice, I know they work.
What are some more choices.that my wife could use on a wsm so she can elk hunt.
Just received one of Ross's brakes for my 338. Looks good. I have a couple others from different companies and the Ross Brake looks like a better design. Can't wait to give it a try.For the money it’s awful hard to beat ross’s Breaks. He even tapers his break to your specified diameter when u buy one of his breaks. I’ve never had one of Nathan’s breaks but I’m sure their good too.
