I almost bet your going to have extraction problems after a firing or two. The .200 line should be .555 minimum. MattView attachment 1080183
I want to make sure I am reading the print correctly. What is the freebore on this?
Maybe you got a small die and lucked out. When we used a .554 at .200 line reamer everybody had trouble. Usually started around the second or third firing. MattThanks. I don’t remember the throat being that short, 220 SMKs worked great. I guess I need to get a throating reamer.
One year I shot five screamer groups, set two club group agg records, and won a bunch of matches with a barrel cut with this reamer. No extraction issues in 800 rounds. Back then I used standard Redding dies. That said I’ll be getting a custom die for this one.
The only spec I remember giving Dave back in 2005 was the neck diameter. Everything else was his call. Maybe I can get him on the phone.............
Also, I had a hunting rifle chambered with this reamer. A couple hundred rounds through it with no extraction issues.
Regardless , you now have me wondering if I should get a new reamer......
I wouldn't change a thing , doing as good as you did . Not even the die . Just keep it simple and upgrade with newer bullet offerings .Thanks. I don’t remember the throat being that short, 220 SMKs worked great. I guess I need to get a throating reamer.

Probably, a custom die would take care of it. I used the wrong word, instead of extraction, I should of said bolt click. The WSM is a great cartridge, very accurate. I broke 7 world records and 5 club records with it, including the 10 match heavy gunI guess it is only three tenths tighter than .555. I could just indicate in the barrel with a little runout and get the chamber bigger.......
I typically do not run hot loads, so that may have been part of it. I ran the 220s at 2740 fps and run the 168 TTSXs in the hunting rifle at 3000.
Still, wouldn't a custom die solve any potential extraction issues?
Also, I’m thinking I need a longer throat. I have a 1x9 twist barrel I am going to try as well as trying Sierra 200s (2231), Sierra 210s, Berger 200.20x, and Berger 215s. I am guessing a .250 throat?
Then again, in 2006 I tried both 210 Berger’s and 210 SMKs, but the rifle like the 220s.
BTW, this will be my bad weather rifle, a light gun. Bat B is on order. I have the Benchmark barrel, and will get one of Alex stocks.
The print shows 35 degrees like it should. The .30 is not the shoulder angle.
Maybe the radius at the junctions. It can never be zero because it needs radius on it. MattI’m not sure what the .30 and .120 are referring to. If they were degrees, they should add up closer to 180 pending sidewall taper.
