Model 12 ,new shilen ss barrel.
I full length size everytime.
Round chambers easy ,but after the shot, lift up bolt to top ,and try to eject round sometimes it'shard, new lapua brass, about 90 rounds fired,I'mthinking it's not resizing down close to the casehead, when I measured a shot round,to one I resized ,it was the same.
Doesn't do it everytime,and loads aren't hot

I'm encountering the exact same problem with my savage wildcat 6-250. The cause appears to be the Redding full length sizer die. I have two of these Redding dies, one a bushing die. They are different by .003 at their base ID. The sticking is occurring at the web, which isn't sized. My shoulder set back is .003. Check your overall case length as well. I'm using Norma brass. The bolt sticking occurred after the 3rd fireing. Redding wants me to send three fired, unsized cases and the sizing dies for them to check out. Plan on doing that asap.

Explain the die setting (i.e. amount of cam over) you are using when full length sizing. Is the die set for a .001 to .002 shoulder set back from a fired case in your rifle?

Is the chamber cleaned periodically?

IMG_0825.JPG This is a cartridge that was Fired on a cold damp day" notice the case head protruding a few thousand, these were the only ones to have heavy bolt lift etc.
Cases fired on a different day drop right in about.002 below the rim

What's your bullet, powder charge weight, seating depth BTO?

Without trying this ammo & "Shilen" pre-fit barrel myself. Let me say this, I fought w my old Shilen 6mmBRX [pre-fit match grade] for two years, using Charges of Varget only one grain over my old 6mmbr load [wimpy]& Berger 105 bullets. Finally I gave that barrel to a gunsmith I shoot with. He re-chambered it with a like new 6mmBRX reamer. Presto chango. This thing extracts easily & shoots better. I'm happy . My next 6mmBRX will be a Brux barrel chambered by same gunsmith. Try a CBI pre-fit. Call Northland Shooters supply. or get a different barrel to test out on that action...Mike in Ct

There is a Very simple answer.

Lapua is made in Europe (CIP) spec

Your Chamber was made with a American spec(SAAMI) Reamer

Go to shooting Remington, Winchester brass, problem will be SOLVED.....or keep banging your head against the wall crying because you want to shoot lapua brass.

If you are having a caliber chambered that has both European brass and American brass, find out from the gunsmith if it is a SAAMI reamer or a CIP reamer.
