6x47 load development

I have been testing my first 6-6.5x47 over the last couple of weeks. I've experimented with H4350, Varget and RL15 with 105 Berger Hybrids. It has taken more work than the other cartridges I've developed loads with.
I can see from the data on here that I'm running quite hot loads compared to the average load used. The cases are handling the pressure but I'm considering whether the higher charges are affecting accuracy in this case (pardon the pun).
I've tested the following quite extensively with 105 Berger Hybrids and CCI 450's 0.020" off the lands.

H4350: 40-42.4 (42.0+ hot)
RL15: 36.6-38.0
Varget: 35.2-38.6 (38.2+ hot)

Plus I've then gone on to tune stability nodes with OAL but have rarely seen better than 0.3 MOA despite extensive testing. This is very unlike my 2 previous 6.5x47's which tuned very easily with big wife nodes produced high levels of accuracy with brief OAL testing.

Accuracy/stability nodes have been noted at the widest with Varget and H4350. I have at this point

I am wondering what accuracy people have discovered with theirs compared to proven high accuracy cartridges. People talk of the cartridge being 'fussy'.
Is it fussy in that it's harder to find a good load or that the accuracy doesn't tend to match that of say a 6BR or Dasher?

Not at all. I've simply covered, within reason, most of the powder charges until I discovered max pressures with each powder. This is a competition load I am developing so if I can find the accuracy node in a higher charge then I'll take the extra associated velocity and ballistics.

In asking those questions, my point was to share that, based on the charge ranges you shared, it would appear that you missed the 'lower' node entirely. You started at very warm, and went straight to obscene...

As a reference, per QL, 38.6gr Varget will net somewhere in the vicinity of 79,000 psi chamber pressure. Likewise, 42.4gr H4350 nets almost 80,000psi. Just sayin'...

39.6 H4350 worked with every bullet I tried. I'm at 3056 with the 110smk.

For several years I was using 39gr of R-17 with good results. That load would give me a muzzle velocity of 2966. It was a mild load. I could go up on the load and reach 3050 fps but it didn't group as well.

Then Reloader 16 became available and after trying it I became a believer. 39gr of R-16 with a cci-450 and a 105 hybrid gave me a 2977fps me and an es of 9. This was the average of several 5 shot groups. The group average was well under .5 MOA for these groups. I bought an 8lb keg.

Works equally well in my 6.5 Creedmoor.

39.0 H4350 CCI 450 and 105 VLDs (orange box) in my BAT and PANDA and they both shoot very well.

I ended up at 39 H4350 with both the 105 Hybrid and the 108 BT and the CCI 450. Took it up to 44G...shot best at 39 @ 3150ish. Seems like I am getting some pretty good BBL life with this load. My brass life is FANTASTIC, although, a lot of that must be attributed to the brass quality!! Granted....a little under 2000 rounds on two hundred pieces is no big thing, the fact that the primer pockets are AS NEW ...well...is. I plan on using this same brass on my new tube when the time comes.

FWIW, I settled @ 39.3 H4350 behind the 105Hybrid, for the same reasons 4xfour stated...

Best accuracy comes at 40.5 of H-4350 in two of my guns with moly plated 105's, one w/Hybrids, the other w/Hunting VLD's.

39.6 of H-4350 worked in two different 6x47's using 103-108 gr. bullets. The 108 Berger's had the highest velocity in my 30" barrels @ 3108.

39g H4350, 105 Amax or 105 BH, 2990 fps. I stopped chasing accuracy and speed. Shoots great.

I believe you're thinking of a 6.5 x 47>>> not a 6 x 47...

Which rifle are we talking about? 6.0x47L, or the 6.5x47L?

I ran 39.5 of H4350 with the 105 hybrids and like Fredo and the others I’m getting good brass life. You might try h4831 sc as well. I tried varget and h4350 with my most recent 6x47 and couldn’t get a good load. I went to that with the 95 vld hunters in an 8 twist and found a sweet spot around 42.8. I couldn’t tell you about the pressures in either.

What do y'all consider a good load?
Are y'all reading a target or using a chrono or a pressure calculator or brass life to tell you what a good load is ?
No one has to answer I'm just wondering what I'm missing here..

Everyone seems to have their own opinions of what defines a “good” load.
Personally, I consider a load that goes bang and exits the end of the barrel a good load. Now if you’re asking what defines an “accurate “ load there are again a lot of opinions on this spanning the spectrum from what you see on target at competition distance to barrel life due to powder burn rate, chamber pressure, bullet bearing surface, etc, ad nauseous. I like to let the target tell me what the most accurate load is if I am in the range of published data for that cartridge. JMHO
