Back in the '60s, I used to put mine on the deck lid and roll down the Pennsy turnpike then let it hang in the carport for a few days. Had to make sure I got maximum exposure of my hunting prowess. They were usually spikes. No carport now, just a garage, but the redneck part is still intact.

You get to see plenty on our highway after opening weekend. I just shake my head and laugh. I guess they didn’t plan on getting one and don’t have a place to put it. The tags usually blow off on the way home. Lol

Been through Buffalo, Mo. several times. One particularly memorable time 3 of us going to Rogersville. Left in a snow storm and drove through it all the way. 71 Chevy pickup, probably fairly new at the time. Distributor cap got wet inside from bucking snow and started missing going past Buffalo. Pulled over and got it dried off and headed on. When we got to our destination there was 13" of snow piled up. We were snowed in there at the house for 3 days before we could get out to go hunting. My friend from Rogersville bailed out of the truck and snatched up a jack rabbit in deep snow on the way to another hunter's place. A guy doesn't have to be crazy - but it helps

Here’s another he killed in Missouri sept 27th. He’s a hunting machine and his wife kills her share of the deer. They are avid turkey hunters and travel to get them.

Noon to one is a good time to catch moles moving, learned that from a 90yr old lady. I guess I let too many deer walk this year, but no regrets. I love watching nature and absorb the whole thing.

Ideally we hunt every chance and close the deal in the last weeks. Gloves off after Christmas, until then it’s stick with the plan. Worked last year and got my first Christmas Day buck!

December 15th - 22nd should be hot stuff. Going into full moon so back to rutting action.

The bottom deer was nearby. The middle two were the same deer, and involved travel. The elk also involved travel, as did the javelina.

I like coots! I’ve been told about how awful they are, but I think they’re better tasting than most ducks. I’ve also found that almost everyone who told me not to eat a coot, has never eaten a coot.

Buddy killed this near my house using his rifle tag, hard core bow hunter. He’s out there now freezing! That deer weighed 175 dressed.
