Do yourself a big favor and look elsewhere. Gunwerks has a great deal going on their custom actions made in house. Truelly one of the hidden gems on the market. Some great features like dual cocking cams, Borden Bumps, and the awesome HS extractor set up. An all around great action for 750.00 on sale. If I needed another action I would take a hard look at this one.

Ptg seems to be doing a little better than they have in the past. The last few orders I've placed with them have went well but it dosent make up for the slow/bad service I've had in the past. My friend has one of their b-52 actions and I was able to put some rounds through it awhile back. I think they are based on a stiller action but according to Brittney at ptg they are 100% machined in house at ptg. I liked the action and price well enough to consider a cheaper hunting rifle build with one of their b-52 actions, I haven't been around a b-12 action.

I sent it back , excessive bolt clearance , needs it own ($80) rail . Nothing like the B-58 action I'd purchased a few years back, its a turd by comparison.

These are great actions for the price! I've barreled a few of them. All the threads are thread milled. The receiver threads are timed and the head space has been very consistent. Once a gunsmith is set up for them he can head space and stamp a new barrel and everything will line up perfect. The only bad thing I can say is for the small high pressure cases like the BR, BRX and Dasher and probably 6.5x47 and it relatives, the firing pins are pretty loose in the holes and you can expect a trip to GreTan to have them bushed. They seem to work fine for 400-500 rounds and then they start blanking primers. I've seen it a few times now.

I'm a big fan of PTG 1 piece bolts in rem actions. @Daerider brought his to the match this morning and he has it operating and shooting as smoothly as any custom action. That said, the PTG custom action doesn't give you the option of the .062 firing pin which is required for the high pressure rounds we're using now.

That is the trued R700 action rather than the PTG premium action in the OP. now the trued R700 action is very nice. They generally use a .700 bolt, I prefer a .705 bolt, cleans up the boltway better. --Jerry
