Young man shoots 2 wolves

I wonder if wolves can be called in like coyotes? Animal distress calls can be made in most any, "flavor" with an electronic caller.

Yes they can. I know a couple of guys that have called in wolves. We had a limited wolf hunt in WI.The year I would have been guaranteed a kill permit in the drawing, the libs got the wolf back on the endangered list here again.

I live in far northwestern Wisconsin, and we have more than enough wolves around here. They are big, much bigger than most people assume, while hunting I have seen several under my tree stand. The males are commonly 150 - 170 pounds, the females are closer to 100 pounds. The USDA Trapper in our area has had a wolf in his snare three times that he says was at least two hundred pounds, I have seen that wolf track and have no doubt that it was at least 200, track was as big as a bear track.
It takes one deer every three days to feed a single wolf. They move into an area and stay as long as they can find deer to eat. When the deer are gone the wolves move. I was talking to a man near Clam Lake that had a wolf den on his property. He placed a trail camera watching the den and had pictures of the female wolf bringing over 70 deer fawns to feed her pups!
I am willing to share the woods with a wolf, don't love them or hate them. But just like everything else in the woods, the population has to be controlled or there is a very serious price to pay.
At one time I was the owner of a car repair facility, and I had a tree hugging customer from MN in the shop. She was telling me how lucky I was to have all of the beautiful wolves around. I tried to have a discussion with her, but it rapidly became obvious that that wouldn't work. So I told her that the best part of having all these wolves is when I shoot one with a collar, and I put the collar on the back bumper of a car MN tags!
She never did come back again!

This is how they got so big. Uncle Sam put different ones back as replacements. Brilliant.
Quote from Wikipedia
"the wolves used for the introduction were 30% larger than the original park wolves"
I think a larger North Canadian cousin was used in place of Canis Lupus.
I have had the good fortune to watch them from the road in the north of Yellowstone Park for an afternoon from about 400 yards.

I see no value to wolves. They have decimated our moose population here in Minnesota and all the liberals here in the state find all kinds of reasons the moose are going extinct other than the wolf. Its insane.
