Even when i was a kid i could look at a cartridge out of the box and kinda tell something about it. Like a 308 is smaller than a 30-06 and a 7-08 was smaller than a 7mm mag. When i look at a creedmoor i wonder what magical abilities it has over a 260 or 6.5x47.
As in it always shoots a 0.264" hole in the target?
At 1000 yards yeah. At 100 yards its even better...

The Creedmoor was designed by NASA, using rocket combustion chamber technology. The precise case shape allows pressures exceeding 180,000 psi to be used with existing brass and rifle metallurgy. At 181,241 psi, all harmonics cancel one another out, allowing the rifle to remain motionless until the bullet has reached 3000 yards (this takes approximately .127 seconds). A group exceeding .264 inches, edge to edge, is a sign of sophomoric gun handling.
There’s no magic about it.

I just hope that if I am reincarnated into some type of a big game animal and somebody has their sights set on me for their trophy wall(because I just know I will be sporting a huge....rack) that it is not some feller with a 6.5 creed and the latest BDC scope on it shooting some whizbang bullet that he has no idea if his barrel is twisted correctly that is if he even knows what a twist rate is. I hope it is some stately gentlemen shooting my favorite cartridge(250-3000) and places a well aimed heart shot on me at some type of reasonable range. I just can’t imagine all the wounded animals and bullets whizzing around from these so-called long range shooters that we have now. By the way I do not believe in reincarnation! I do shoot thousand yard competitions and know that accurate shots can be made under the right conditions at these distances.

Along the same line...
A group of friends that have known each other since grade school I got to meet when I was into 3D Archery.
One guy in their group, you know the type, the one that is famously "infamous", a nice guy and all, loved but tolerated, invited but more for providing the groups entertainment factor, because he's a bit of a failure at most things, type of guy.
I listened as the most popular member of the group told a deer hunting story about infamous.
It was well known among them that infamous was a notoriously poor shot.
Beyond exited, infamous radios his friends to get help dressing out his first archery deer kill. They'd all been hunting together since the teens and infamous was in his mid 30's. Later on when they got to the kill the friends are utterly surprised that the archery tag has indeed been fulfilled as they see the buck sporting a respectable rack laying on the ground with a severed back bone. Infamous had cut it's throat to finish off the job before he left to meet his friends.
Infamous tells the story of poking the deer at a estimated 90Y, that's the sight pin he used for the shot. Friends are more than impressed now! Infamous's reputation has just gone up significantly with one enormous feat of marksmanship.
Reconstruction of the crime scene, with forensics and disturbances on the ground as evidence, and in view of the firing location, had brought a certain conclusion. The deer was shot at 35 yards, lol.
No wonder they love this guy, because who else would be capable of such a feat, right??, lol.

A guy I know bought a 30-378 WBY when they came out from the factory......shoot...must be near 25 years ago now. Anyway...after telling me all of the storeys about how the gun is so powerful that it broke the shoulder of many of the testers at the factory.....he told me how his scope setup worked...

All the fun we're having at the creedmoor's expense, myself included. That being said...... I own a 6 Creedmoor in a RPR. If someone was inclined to, they could look back on posts from several years ago. Then I was on here asking the guys much more knowledgeable than me about chambering a .243 Win to shoot the longer 107 to 115 grain bullets. Only use for the rifle was my entertainment, poking holes in paper and smacking steel out to 1200 yards. So based on the expert input I received here I went searching for a Rem 700 that I could hang a barrel with the twist etc recommended here. In the process I discovered the RPR in .243 with the barrel needed for the long bullets and about $1000 less expensive than the custom Rem 700. So I went on the quest for the RPR in .243, none to be found. Before I scored they discontinued the RPR .243 and chambered it in 6 Creedmoor. So I purchased the rifle. Bought 300 rounds of Hornady 108 ELD's and have enjoyed shooting it ever since. The only spectacular thing its done for me, and this is not likely a big deal for most of you shooters, is the first time sighting and firing it I was able to consistently hit steel at 1000 yards, thats after I doped the steep angle and the wind. If I was competing in XYZ class or discipline I would likely go for whats winning there, but I'm not competing any more. So I am just having fun. And ya know what ? The Creedmoor is enjoyable to shoot and keeps delivering that enjoyment here, on the forum, where we can all have a great time busting balls.
