6.5x284 bullet choice for deer

I want a bonded bullet. The bergers were the second worst performers i have ever tried behind barnes tsx. Ballistic tips generally never make an exit wound like the berger. Both work fine for something like a coyote but i need a deer to bleed out both sides and immediately if they move. The eld-x killed 4 last year for me but they didnt bleed a drop until they fell at least 50yds into a thicket i have to crawl into. I dont want them to leave the trail
Yesterday deer made 1 jump& maybe 2 steps . 140 no's balistic tip, 7wsm. 140 lb buck

I can report a 33 nosler shooting accubonds is the most devastating deer gun ive ever had Next to a 375 h&h under 150yd. Shot one At 275yd right behind the shoulder quartering away. Jellied the intestines where you couldnt tell a lung from heart, broke both legs and spine and bloodshot The neck halfway to the skull. Had about a 4” exit wound.

Guess there's no need to grind it into burger after that. Lol

I just called and got a recommendation for their 110gr Hammer Hunter for the 6.5x47 on TX whitetail & hogs from 75-500yds. Ordered 100 to try.

Gotta love & support small businesses. They offer a 10% military discount on the honor system. The website says you're "a turd" if you take the discount dishonestly. Proud to say that I'm not a turd. At least not in this context.

I've shot a lot of them from day one and by far they are the easiest mono to tune, probably the most forgiving bullet I've shot actually. They are the only mono bullet I will still load for hunting, the are extremely lethal and they pay a lot of attention to propper twist rates and put up an honest BC.
Killed a few things with the 110 in the 6.5 and everything was dead fast due to the damage they are designed to do but you also see the shank of the bullet getting massive penetration and wrecking along the way.
They are the ONLY mono bullet that when I did testing with them on multiple elk I could not get them to deflect or stop on an elk shoulder, they also cause excellent wound channels through a soft hit through the slats, I've tested monos for multiple companies and the Hammers are hands down the best.

Ledd... very nice buck...did it run or drop?

My 14 year old son shot it. He has killed a couple mule deer bucks, but this was his first whitetail buck. I was at work when he killed it with his grandfather, but the story is that my son missed high shoulder shot by a little bit and hit him to the rear of the aiming point, but the round still broke his spine and he went right down. So didnt go anywhere after the shot, but had to be finished off with another round

Send son congratulations, that's a fine animal! Surely Grandpa must be glowing just as brightly!

Appreciate your candor when mentioning the necessary follow up...

What rifle do you have?
help me decide between the accubond 140 or the swift scirocco 130 for deer. Ive tried every other bullet out there i think with less than stellar results out past 400yds. If it was closer id be using a partition but out that far they shoot like a brick in my other calibers

I hope I made the right choice; just developed a load for my 6.5-284 using 130 grain Swift bullets. In terms of accuracy it's lights out, couldn't ask for better groups. I just don't know yet what kind of performance I'm going to get out in the field.

Definitely won't have an issue with penetration. Just place your shot correctly and the Swift bullets will kill.

They do look like they’re gonna be easy to tune. Got them to 3,015 FPS in a 22” 6.5x47 with Varget without much pressure. A 15 shot group spanning 2.8grains measured 1.14” at 100 yards! That’s shot off a Harris bipod and a squeeze bag. I wish my bench guns were this forgiving. One more tuning session & hopefully i’ll hunt with them Dec 8th.

I should also add that we’re neck shooters. Cant risk a gut shot at extended ranges
I switched all my rifles (all hunting rifles, and mostly for whitetail) to Bergers. However, I also started aiming for high shoulder shot, especially at longer ranges, gives a little more room for error, and I have yet to shoot a whitetail that isn't DRT, no tracking required. In my 6.5 calibers have had equally good results from the 135 Classic Hunters and the 140 Elite Hunters.
Your mileage may vary.
