Idaho - heaven on earth?

And, ... I'm stumped on the "bite size". 30 miles, could be Winchester, clear up to Moscow. Somebody needs to enlighten!

They might be talking about Rocky Mountain Oysters. Otherwise known as deer balls.;)...or bulls balls or pigs, gophers, elk. They feed them to the tourists and giggle.

Nope, Testicle Festival I went to years back was at Rock Creek , East of Missoula, on I-90. Just a little Hole-in-the -Wall place, except for BIG Party once a year. I'm not sure it's still going.... Thinking it's been over 10 years or more since I've been there. Don't ever remember going through Ryegate in my years of Harley riding through Big Sky Montana........ But, looks like an interesting place!!!!!

so guess there's a few?! I'm sticking to onion rings + bud :)
great country, but so is all MT.

Ok, someone mentioned already, but Lewiston is home of "bite-size steak". Just cubed steak, usually lightly battered, usually deep fried but sometimes pan fried. Most agree it was originated at "The Chicken Roost", a restaurant perched part way up the Old Lewiston Hill (aka "The Spiral Highway") on US 95 north of town. But that has been gone for many decades, and the notorious standard bearer for bite-size has been "Bojack's Broiler Pit" on Main St. Other restaurants have cashed in on the dish over the years, some quite satisfactorily, but Bojack's has always been the standard against which bite-sized steak has been measured.

I'm within 30 miles of those Speer bullets, & I know about those "Bite Size"!!!!!!!!! Ha Ha Ha Oh, & I have a "Red Beer" once in a while, too......... Idaho-45

I'm within 3 miles of Speer, never got the taste for red beer though. Have had bite size at Tomato Bros., still need to try Bojacks.

Ok, hot tip: "Rookies", a small sports pub in Clarkston (509 Diagonal St.) has great bite-sized. Three blocks on Diagonal from Tomato Bros. You won't be disappointed. Tomato Bros is good, but my sister and her husband are very finicky, and Rookies is their current stop. But you must check out Bojack's, that goes without saying. They serve you spaghetti as well as fries there, and it's a crazy packed atmosphere, with a basement as well as street level dining areas. Just don't be in a hurry. Another good place for bite-size is Zany Graze on 19th Ave off 21st Street in Lewiston.

Update: Rookies has since changed hands a couple of times, and I hear the food is not a before. YMMV.

Those would be calf (beef) testicles.

I've had both beef and sheep nuts. I live in Basque country, so those would be sheep's. I also had them in Paris, France (not Texas) in a Moroccan restaurant, served over couscous. Yummy! The stuffy waiter spoke no English (wouldn't even look at a mere America) so half the fun was hearing my female Parisian companion order "testiclees" for me.

But I've also helped brand and neuter calves near here, and the finale of a hard dusty day's work is a big picnic of really fresh fried calf nuts and assorted sides dishes, washed down with plenty of beer or wine.

Visited Idaho last summer/fall. One of the most beautiful places on this earth. I envy those who live there.
