I installed a TrippLite LC-1200 line conditioner/surge protector on my Sartorious which cured my non-draft related drift.

What is the ASTM # of your 100 G calibration weight. Since the resolution of the scale is 0.001 G, one needs a weight with a tolerance of +/- 0.00025 G or +/- 0.25 mg. This weight has an ASTM # of 1. I saw one seller of the A&D FX-120i selling an ASTM 7 to calibrate the scale. not good enough!!!! you could get by with an ASTM class 2.I looked at my notes and my pan weighed 175.60 when I started loading this spring. My load is 42gr and I keep the original charge in a sealed vial and tare my scale with that charge before loading for a match. The same scale now weighs 175.74 and that same charge weighs 43-43.2. I loaded for a match a month ago and the scale weighed 175.68 and the charge weighed 42.6. Anybody else seeing wondering weights like this? I use the same check weights and calibrate my scale before a loading session.
Should it be set to 3?
I'm sure they aren't good enough, but I use the ones that came with my chargemaster. I just noticed an error, my charge now weighs 42.1-42.12, a tenth, not a grain difference from the original 42.0.What is the ASTM # of your 100 G calibration weight. Looking for an excuse for my sucky shooting all year, lol.Brad, I hope your worrying about this because you are loading for the 4-state match at Panola in a few weeks.....
New info! Were it me, I'd . . .Never had this problems until I started using the Auto throw and trickler. My scale never really would drift much at all until this year either. Now it constantly drifts when loading. I will try resetting the factory settings then reloading the auto instructions and see if that helps. I use a metal pan "shot glass" and wipe it down with denatured alcohol frequently, it's weight shouldn't be changing.
You are right. Not good enough. You are trying to calibrate a 0.02 grain scale with a weight designed for 0.1 grain.I'm sure they aren't good enough, but I use the ones that came with my chargemaster. I purchased a static mat with earth clamp from eBay, everything sits on the mat.I also deal with a wondering zero from time to time. I calibrate each reloading session, level, use a in line voltage regulator, etc...
I blame it on static and have not found an acceptable way to get rid of it consistently. Open to suggestions ?
