New season with new brass. Old brass what to do?

I've got 175 6mm bra brass with close to 15 firings. It's become hardened so it's on to a new 200.
I'm having trouble actually throwing the old brass in the garbage ....
What's y'all thoughts on this ?

Don't throw it in the garbage, put it in a re-cycling bucket. When this next batch of brass gets ready to put it out to pasture, do the same with it also. Scrap yellow brass (all metals) have some value. If you get enough of it, use the money to finance the purchase of more brass or some other essential item(s).

How I handle old worn out brass. I keep a 5-gallon empty paint bucket in the garage. As I accumulate scrap brass, I place it in the bucket. Every year or so, it gets full. At that time I take it to a metal recycling facility and cash it in. Generally brings in $60 to $70 to use toward getting more reloading stuff!

FOR YEARS i'VE HAD A 3# COFFEE CAN ON THE FLOOR. i'VE THROWN SPENT PRIMERS, BERDAN PRIMED CASES, OR OTHER DESTROYED CASES AND BULLET JACKETS IN.
WHEN FULL WENT TO SCRAP METAL/RECYCLER AND GOT SOME MONEY. WITH THE PRICE OF BASS MONEY IN MY POCKET.
ENOUGH FOR A SIX PACK OR SO

I like this idea but it's springing back even after annealing.

Agree with the above comment. If the neck/shoulder are still springing back then just anneal more.

No reason to throw away the brass if the pockets are still tight and it's not case head separating.

Heck, if you don't want it send it to me. I'll pay shipping. :)

Use new brass, having to introduce new brass to a barrel with half it's life gone to me is like trying to purchase the extended warranty as your vehicle is behind the tow truck on it's way for a new motor.
Well not that drastic, but still.

I was full sizing .223 Lapua brass after about 35-40 reloads. In the first ten, I had two case head separations. There were no prior problems and yes, I anneal. Rather to be safer than sorrier, I dumped the whole batch of 165 cases into my bucket. I am happy that; 1. I had so many reloads out of the batch, 2. I did not yet have primers in them, and 3. There was no separation occurring while firing.

I think I got my use out of the cases.

Send it my way. I’ll use it ‘till the primers fall out!:)

I like the load and practice idea. I have a buddy that keeps me in 308 Lapua brass from his F-tr rifle. When the seating pressure starts dropping, he starts new, and I get some strong brass I can shoot in my gas gun. Pockets are still plenty tight for the average shooter.

My suggestion is to send 10 pc of this brass to DJBS. I bet it he can make it work. He will give you an honest opinion on the remaining life of this brass.
