Ruger Precision Rifle for mid-range match rifle

I've been shooting our local club mid-range matches - 600 yards - in both F/TR and AR-Tactical divisions. I have a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and I'd like to give it a try in the match rifle class. I have a jacket (it still fits!) and a cuff type match sling from my highpower days. My only problem is I can't quite figure out how to attach a competition style hand stop to the RPR M-LOK handguard.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to set up a hand stop on the Ruger?

I think the handstops that are out there for the MLok rail aren't what you are after, and wouldn't work very well. The rail itself should do a pretty good job of anchoring your hand a'la service rifle style.

Other than that, making your own mounting point for a sling/handstop would be the alternative.

If you do decide you want to use a proper handstop, I recall that the RPR uses a standard AR barrel nut for handguard attachment (though the barrel attachment itself is different).

If that is the case, then an AR match rifle float tube should work, and give you a proper handstop slot. Frank's suggestion of the Magpul sling attachment does have the advantage of being significantly less expensive, though

I thought about going that route, but I think I'm going to try the less expensive route first just to see how it works.

Plain threaded muzzles are fine. Most of the shooters I've seen who pull their brakes/suppressors use a thread protector, but that's just to protect the threads not for any rule compliance.
