Antelope & Deer Bullet

This is for hunting for a hunting bullet. Going to be reloading for a 6 Creedmoor for a Antelope & Mule Deer Hunt. Right now I have a box of Hornady 103 gn ELD-X and a box of Berger 105 VLD Hunting. The rifle sports a 26" 7.7 twist, 4 grove Proof barrel. Any pro's or Con's about either bullet?
thanks
Only about the 2 bullets listed no other brand, no other weight

Are you hunting both species on the same hunt or at different times?
Load both, know the difference in dope for both rounds, hunt both rounds.
Pick what hunt you want to shoot a particular bullet
Then share your results.
I'm running both. Bergers in 2 rifles, and eldx's in another this year instead of nosler.
Hopefully we can compare results.

Hunting both on same hunt, good idea on doing both, will get some Berger loaded and chronied maybe tomorrow to see how different from the Hornady speed & POI

Now that's a plan!!
I bet it's just a couple clicks.
I move 1 left. & 3 up going from 140vlds to 143eldx

Working up loads for the 6 CM and loading Berger 105 VLD hunting and Hornady 103 ELDX Loading in .2gn incriments Took the best of both groups yesterday and loaded more today.
With the Berger at 41.5 gn of H4350 and with the Hornady at 40.8gn of H 4350 for the best groups at 100 yds.The Berger averaged 3145 with es of 7 and sd 5.0 and Hornady 3133.with es 3 and sd of 1.4. Berger had the tightest group of 3/8". Hornady at 1" , 3 shot groups at 100 yds.
Working dope sheets for both showed clicks were the same out to 750 yds and then at 800 1 click diff and at 1000 it was 2 click diff.
maybe a little less coffee would have helped.

The Berger 105 is a wicked little bullet. Both the VLD and the Hybrid have worked very well for my friends and I out past 700 yards on deer out of 6mmXCs. Large exit holes and instant deaths have been the MO on about 6 or 7 deer.

Are you using the hybrid targets for hunting?

Any more terminal results with these two Bullets? Wanting to build a 6mm hunting gun for my next build. These are the two bullets I’m interested in using. Which one gave the best wound channel and exit wound?

Brother just sent me picks of a nice blacktail taken with a 147 eldm out of a 6.5.
Pencil in baseball out, shoulders are clean, dont imagine there was much left of the lungs.

I know you said you did not want to hear this, but it sounds like a great excuse to buy a bigger caliber rifle to optimize for both species. Everybody needs a new rifle! I have shot a mature mule deer with .243 using a 100gr sierra and it did not put him on the ground the way it will an antelope. I do the same combination hunt every few years. One of the 7mm calibers would work perfectly for both.

To start you picked apples and oranges, not a bad thing, one will likely be found in pieces and one either not found or in a pretty mushroom. If it doesn't matter to you pick which ever shoots better and put it where it belongs. To properly answer your question
What distance do you plan on shooting? point blank to ?
Do you care if a bullet comes apart?
Do you want an exit?
Do you shoot shoulder at close range?
Just some things to consider.

I am a big fan of the 105 HVLD very accurate and I have killed a few whitetails with them and they worked as advertised. I have a load for the 103 ELD X but have not got to shoot anything other than rocks with them. they like to Jump quite a ways dont be afraid to try them .100 off .090 .060 .040. they seem to shoot good if they jump ?
