F Class National Scores

I got these from @johnnyi so kudos to him for providing them.

Since no one else has posted the aggregate results already I get the privilege to be the first one (well, in this thread at least :)) to send a super-size congratulations to our fellow Bayou Rifles shooter Randy Littleton for winning the FTR mid-range championship!!! Randy is such a nice guy, I am so happy for him on this accomplishment. Randy, you make us proud!!!

Congratulations also to our fellow Texan shooter John Myers who shot an unbelievable 1800-133X to win the F-Open mid-range championship!!! That is truly remarkable.

John Myers and Randy Littleton, BOTH from Bayou Rifles in Texas, BOTH won their respective disciplines! GREAT JOB GUYS! I now reside in Arizona, however, I was from Bayou Rifles and let me tell you, Texas has the largest group of GREAT shooters in one state and Bayou Rifles has the largest group of GREAT shooters in Texas! I have shot in Arizona with James Murphy here in Arizona. He is one of the MOST consistent F-Open shooters there is! He is #5 on the list in F-Open. He is either at the top or very near the top ALL the time!

Now to brag on John a bit! This is John's 4th Mid-Range National win IN A ROW! John is a phenomenal shot! Can you imagine shooting 180 shots for score and NONE went out of the 10 ring and most were in the X ring! Just incredible!

would love to read about John's equipment. Randy's too.

I believe, however, I am not sure, that John is shooting a .300WSM with 215 Hybrids at "about" 2850f.p.s.+. John, the last time I saw him, his rifle was sporting a RAD recoil suppression system on it. John also favors a tuner AND he knows how to use it! I am not sure of his action or barrel. Randy, I can't tell you anything about his equipment. However, you know it has to be top notch to score what he scored!

A rifle is only as good as the person behind the trigger.

To some degree your statement is true. However, to a larger degree it is not. If you took a set of "K-Mart" golf clubs and gave a set to me and another set to Tiger Woods, he could bring out the best that club has to offer, I could not. However, would that club bring out the best in Tiger Woods? Give him a set of Callaways and see what happens to his score! By the same token, many of the top shooters in this country, no matter the discipline, can outshoot a factory rifle. BUT give that same person a full-blown custom rifle and see what his scores do! The reason people spend the $$$s on a custom rifle is that the rifle is good enough to win and set records. By far and away, an "off the shelf" rifle is not going to accomplish what a full-blown custom job is capable of doing. But you are right in one regard, if a shooter can not shoot well enough to utilize the accuracy a custom job is capable of, then the rifle is only as good as the person behind the trigger. On the other hand, excellent shooters can tap into and utilize the capabilities of an excellent custom job!

Lets assume the person behind the trigger is the tuner,
Along the lines of “exception that proves the rule”: a guy with no experience throws down at 1K with my totally stock tuned Savage FTR in a perfect little condition, wasn’t sure what the rear bag was for, and pops 5-1/2” 5 shot group

Let’s not forget the wind reading also,

Congrats Norm. Wish Pam and I could have been there to see that. I guess purple is your color after all.

Tracy, I didn't see your name on the mid range scores, did you decide to take it easy on everyone and not shoot?
