Rings for factory Tikka?

I just received my new 32x scope and immediately realized that I do not have 30mm rings. As a rookie, I had no idea that there were so many variables in selecting a new set of rings (low, mid, high, Picatinny, etc.). I just want a solid set of rings that will do the scope justice, and I have no interest in adding a rail. It looks like the scope would align perfectly in the Tikka factory rings if they were 30mm instead of 1". So the question is . . . what brand and scale of rings will fit on the factory Tikka?

Another is DNZ one piece mounts
You can find at Sportsman Wharehouse rather than ordering to ensure a good fit

Get the right mount and then use Burris Signatire Zee rings. They won’t mark your scope up and will preserve your investment in it.

They can also be used to put slant in to keep your reticle near the center. Only really applicable at long range.

I should have listened to you guys, but I went to the closest outdoor store and bought a set of 30mm rings today. The guy in the gun section recommended them (Vortex Pro Series), but they are too wide to mount on the Tikka rail. Why is it so difficult to find decent help at any of these stores? I looked up scope mounting instructions in the Tikka manual, and it says the rail is 17mm. This guy gave me a set at 22.09mm.

Kids these days ;)

I found the Burris and Talley rings. Both have good reputations, but I'm leaning toward Talley. Is there some reason the manufacturers can't give a little more specific information other than low, medium, and high? It looks like the new scope needs at least 3/8" of space between the rail and the bottom of the scope in order to clear the bolt handle. The 44mm lens should easily clear the barrel, so it's just the bolt handle I'm worried about.

Do the Talley's sit on top of the action and screw into the top, or do they clamp on the Tikka dovetail?

They screw into the top, or at least that's what it looks like in the manufacturer's photos. Part number for the medium height set is 740714.

@DogBuster

Any idea how much that Lupy base and Burris ring combo weighs? Looking for light weight option. I can go aluminum pic rail and U/L rings and be less than 8 oz.

I think the Talley's weigh just a few oz.

They do but it's not easy to find and different manufacturers measure the height differently.

For Burris Tikka T3 rings the distance from the bottom of the ring (or top of the rail) to the centerline of the scope (or across the flats of the bottom half) is 1.125" for 30mm medium and 1.250" for 30mm high.

One of the things that Midway does well is they list ring measurements for almost all of them. Unfortunately they measure differently - bottom of ring to bottom of tube. I rarely buy anything there but they are a great source of information.

I use pic rails on all my Tikkas with Warne rings on them. I knew I also had a few extra sets for the factory Tikka rails here, so I looked thru them. I have a set of 1" QD medium Warnes and a set of 30mm mediums Warnes. According to Warnes website the mediums are only good for up to a 42mm objective, so I don't think these would help you out.

Thanks for the tip about Midway. I called Talley, but the guy who answered the phone did not know anything about scope mounts, and I was going to have to wait until regular business hours to get an answer. Luckily Midway had the piece of information I needed (0.5" base to bottom of tube) , and I got the rings ordered through Amazon. Talley and Midway are both out of stock, so I was lucky to find them. Thanks everyone.
