OK....so I didn't call it a BRA...
Ordered a reamer from JGS based on what I thought would work from previous experiences with both 6BR and Dasher. Fit and chambered a surrogate barrel and fire formed a lot of 100 cases. Fit and chambered "match" barrel. Did very basic testing with "match" barrel to eliminate stuff it obviously didn't care for up to 90-100 rounds through barrel. Fired cases from surrogate barrel and match barrel were just under half thou different measured in my bump gauge. Did the usual ladder tests with both H4895 and Varget, tested various primers, and did a seating depth test. My barrel is a Bartlein 1-8' twist 1.25" straight 30" long.
H4895 won the powder competition. All groups through all testing were better with H4895 although not dramatically.
I tested with CCI400, CCI450, CCI BR4 and Fed 205M....at no point did I have any pierced or cratered primers with any. Primer of choice for my rifle was the F205M.
Seating depth tests with the Berger 105 Hybrids started at 0.010" jump and I went out to 0.035". The groups went through obvious changes...vertical to horizontal to round but were getting smaller the more jump I gave it.
All testing was done at either 200 or 300 yards. Believe me, finding days to test in Cody WY can be a frustrating experience. I have not shot the final load at our range's max distance, 500 Meters ,yet, but have stuff loaded and ready for next good day.
Final load... I hope
30.8 H4895
105 Berger hybrid
F205M primers
0.035" jump
Avg vel 2990FPS
ES 13 FPS
SD 4.2 FPS
avg MOA for groups at both 200 and 300 - 0.150MOA
Other rifle details....Borden BR action, Deep Creek Tracker laminated stock, NF 15-55 Comp, Bix-n-Andy trigger. All work done by me . Primary use F-class
I'll try and cipher out how to get pictures up. Great little cartridge and pretty easy to tune as far as I could tell.
