If my math is right, his rate of erosion is twice your worst. As for rate of fire, yes the faster and more you shoot them, the worse erosion is. In our shoots I shoot three sighters in the last two minutes and then 10 records in 30 seconds or less. I consider that pretty fast. MattI have gone thru 11 .284 barrels shooting F Class and it has been less at first and more erosion as the barrel gets older. I usually have seen very little erosion for the first 100 - 300 rounds and then about .0005" per 100 shots for the next 200 to 300. After that it increased to about .001" per hundred. I had one barrel that after the first couple hundred would erode almost .003" per 100 shots - it also was one of the poorest shooting barrels I've had. I think F Class and 20 shot strings cause more problems than slower rates of fire over longer time periods.
