Gunsmith near Houston, TX??

I have a Remington 700 that I want rebarrelled. Are there any gunsmiths near Houston, Texas that build rifles?

Pete Piper in Hempstead. I have not had him do any work, but have several trusted friends that says he does outstanding work.

A friend of mine had a new barrel installed on his Remington 700 last summer by Pete and was very happy with it. I have also heard good things about Omar.

Pete does outstanding work, and Omar has quite the reputation with the F-Class folks down at Bayou. Maybe give each a call and find out what their current lead times are and decide accordingly.

Surprised no one has mentioned Tom Holbrook in Huntsville. A great shooter and from the work I've seen, I would not have a second thought to use him.

Ditto Pete Pieper in Hempstead and Omar Alonzo. If you are on the north side of town, call Shooter's Station on Hwy 105 west of Conroe. 936/588-5232 or 936/588-3333. Barney Eiseman at Shooter's Station does excellent work as well, and I have seen a large number of his rifles shoot very small groups.
