Brux barrels (pics added)

is it just me or are the Brux barrels harder to clean than say.....Krieger?
I have 4 of these and they seem to keep a black carbon down in the grooves. May just be my cleaning method but I need advice. Been using eliminator and/or wipe out with some success but not as clean as I would like it. Also using Iosso nylon brushes and proshot bronze brushes.
Have used JB paste but the grooves seem deeper than the brush will get to? It’s 6BR. 8T

IDK my wife has a nice one...Easiest to clean of all our target rifles..& she is shooting the best scores...Ordered another brux just this week...Mike in Ct

Not trashing a manufacturer but the ones I have are “difficult” may be me.
Yes, I have a scope, the bore scope is how I detected this.

Try Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover, it is a better carbon remover that the Bore Tech Eliminator which is a combination carbon and copper cleaner. I have several Brux barrels and I use the C4 and have no carbon problems with them.
Thanks, I will try it.

First I sorry you are having this experience.

I rarely use brushes and have no problems cleaning my Brux barrels without them. Bore Tech Eliminator followed by Bore Tech Carbon cleaner or Slip 2000 carbon cleaner, followed by Witches Brew does it. I use .223 jags and 1"-1.5" patches.

Hope you find the solution you like.

Try your jb or iosso on a patch after brushing with a bronze brush and butchs. Once you get it out butchs on a patch with a good bronze brush will keep it clean

Those look like my Brux .223 after an overnight soak of Wipeout with Accelerater, Butches Bore Shine/bronze brush scrubbing, Sea foam scrubbing, heck.....everything I have. It finally came clean with JB paste. I thought it was just me. I’m not saying it’s Brux, tho. I just wish some chemist would come up with a “magic elixir “.;) You know.....one wet patch and it’s clean...

I have had zero problems with Brux barrels. Your cleaning methods, powder type, or number of rounds fired is the issue.

Good luck
I am thinking round count on this particular "new to me" rifle. It was really bad when I started, wish I had pics. Reason for my question is I also have another in BRA that is fouling pretty good after 20-25 rounds.

My Brux, my first, is absolute perfection. I use bore tech products and a nylon brush (probably not needed) and have had NO copper fouling at all to date. Will be ordering a custom barrel for another caliber soon.

ckaberna, Give us the load you are shooting, and round count when pictures were taken. When the pictures were taken, was that after you had tried to clean it or pictures taken prior to cleaning?

This was after cleaning. I ran wet patches thru it and let sit for 2-3 hrs. 3 different times and still looks like this. I can’t say for certain but was told Rl15 is what was used.

I am on my first Brux, it shoots great. Clean with Gold Medallion [ Remclean ], i don't use a bore scope.

I've been told by a barrel maker that some barrels just copper up more then others and will take extra time to clean and remove through out life of the barrel.

I clean after every 20-25 shots. 30 caliber brux bbl with 600+ rnds and it will shoot the same hole at 100yds with 190SMK's over a load of CFE223. Maybe the CFE helps. 3 to 6 wet patches of MC#7 and 3 dry usually does the trick. I'm not looking for squeaky clean. Just close enuff for government work clean.

Ive been told that by my smith and that why he uses Brux bbls.
