Sinclair Competition Rest Base Plate - Aluminum?

First run of them has been rough plasma cut. In line for CNC lovin. They’ll get a lot prettier. Should be live with them in about 2 weeks.

They are 1/2” 6061-T651 and will be provided “in the white”. My anodizer’s lot charge is cost prohibitive. Plus, 6061 may not take anodizing as well as many would like - may not look great with color. We ran samples a while back and stuck with clear on our other 6061 items.

They'll be delivered as they are straight of of the CNC. End users can bead blast, powder coat, anodize, etc. With the price of aluminum and the machining involved, I don't think the market can tolerate more cost. I'll keep the thread updated with how they look when finished. Thanks!

No, sir. You need the entire Sinclair Competition Rest. This gives it a wider footprint, adds weight and makes the knobs a little more ergonomic. Here's a link to the original ones that were steel. After talking to customers, we decided to make the next run out of aluminum to save weight. The Comp. rest is already pretty heavy without this.

To all of you guys that are shooting in the INS 1K Nats and have expressed interest...

Unfortunately, I won't be able to have these finished and in MT in time. Sorry. However, the one pictured above should be there in a 90% finished state. Y'all can kick its tires.

They should be finished & available in our store by the end of August.

Best of luck at Nats!

The first run is finished and at our warehouse. I'm heading there this afternoon to work on the product listing. We'll make it a private listing for a week or so and I'll notify the folks that have expressed interest. That should guarantee you the opportunity to get in on the first run.

Our next project - and some of you may have seen & fondled the prototypes at 1K Nats - is the thing that threads into the back hole... I was gonna call it "slow", but I think "precision" may be the wiser choice given the next word is "screw"...
