Does this make sense

no its in the fine state of AZ, all the folks that control our ranges come from our esteemed institutes of higher learning being taught by very impartial scholars who have absolutely no alternative motives

Hmm @milanuk , I guess I come from an "esteemed institute of higher learning being taught by very impartial scholars who have absolutely no alternative motives"

@fatheeler What range are you referring to?

Wait until they shut it down because of the presence of "toxic levels of lead". It's coming.:(

Lead according to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is considered a scrap metal when dealing with outdoor shooting ranges. As long as the range is in use the lead on the range is not considered hazardous waste. Also as long as ranges have a Best Management Plan in place and contain the lead to within the range property there is no issue.

A skeet range where I have been shooting about 30 years is on ridge that runs out into a power plant lake. Some shot can actually reach the water. All the rain water run off from the trap, skeet and sporting clays both targets and bird shot goes right in the lake. I don't if the lake is a source of drinking water but it is an active bass fishing lake.

They will try to close ranges by any means necessary.
And then some dipshits go and shoot tracers at the local range DURING a fire ban and voila, we have the Lake Christine Fire. 5 miles from my house.
Calls to shut the range down were being heard within minutes of the fire starting.

Though often unpleasant, it falls to responsible shooters to correct those that are not, else they will ruin the sport for all!

I watched a guy shooting FMJ 223 ammo out of his AR-15 start a grass fire at the range I shoot at. Bounced one off the rocky ground and several minutes later smoke and flames were spreading. Fortunately, F.D. got it put out just as it was getting into trees which could have been a real conflagration as we were in a drought.

What with the way media likes to make stuff up when they're too busy making deadlines to stop and get facts, the CA fire may not have been started with tracers. Just say'n.

For Ireload2, I believe I fish that lake you're referring to. That explains the 3 eyed and two headed fish I've been catching :p:p:p
