Bore Tech Eliminator - Opinions

zombie-thread-jpg.1041959

I shoot several over bore cases, perfect test barrels to sort out what chemicals do and don't do.

Bore tec, I don't care for it, soaking

Kg, don't care for that one either, soaking

Best soaking...Tactical Advantage product

Montana Extreme bore solvent with good bronze bristle brushes, get the job done.

I have a Hawkeye and Lyman bore scopes.

Smaller cases with less powder residue require less aggressive efforts. Try 22/250 AI's, 22-243 243 AI's, big 7's...will separate the men from the boys solvents.

Now if you really want to do some testing, try your favorite on a rough, drill marked Savage. You are going to have to put on your big boy pants to get those clean.

Bottom line, good bronze bristle brushes do the heavy work, throw them away often(100 strokes).

What is your opinion on the effectiveness of Bore Tech Eliminator for cleaning rifles shooting cooper jacketed bullets.

Their instructions specify the use of nylon brushes. Is that sufficient to remove carbon fouling (i.e. witihout bronze brushing)?

I have tried most everything made. Boretech & Wipeout are the best by far.

Wipe out only worked for me if I used good bronze bristle brushes with it.

Brushing with wipe out accelerator, then using the wipe out liquid worked. Just using the foam was worthless, not completely worthless as it did get out some copper fouling. Hawkeye and lyman do not lie!

If you shoot 125 rounds through a custom 223, then clean, you will find out if your favorite chemical works or just gives you some exercise.

After using probably a dozen different copper removal products over the last 35 years, I just tried eliminator yesterday. I am completely impressed! Instant dark blue on the patches, even after shooters choice showed it to be clean. I will be using this product from now on, until something better comes along!

Where can a guy find losso, or jb's. Our local shops here dont seem to carry it.

My son-in-law put me onto this stuff. He went through the Barrett armour's course since he owns several of their guns.

He says that Barrett had tested every product on the market and picked this stuff as the only product they reccomend for their weapons. Use anything else and you void the warranty on their barrels. They have also rebranded it with their name on it.

I also use the rimfire blend in my RFBR rifles. Works great also.

Thanks, I was just there but only looked for bergers. I'll go back and cruze the isles.
